IDM has donated a variety of instructional materials to primary and secondary schools in Machakos County, Kenya. Donors from Northern Nevada have generously given books, classroom necessities such as pencils and art supplies, and sports equipment to provide a for a richer learning experience in rural schools lacking resources..

IDM Scholarship Endowment in Public Health

The IDM Scholarship Endowment in Public Health was funded in 2019 to support education of students at the University of Nevada, Reno. The scholarship is provided annually to a UNR student who demonstrate an interest in enhancing the health and quality of the life of people in low to middle income countries through their coursework, community engagement, or graduate research.

Educational Partnerships with the University of Nevada, Reno

IDM has a partnered with student groups and instructors at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) since 2002. IDM has supported education of UNR students by providing hands-on learning projects for undergraduate student interns, sponsorship of student projects in Kenya, including water projects and health education, and by fund-raising partnerships with student groups such as the Student Association of International Water Issues.·
