Education and Library in Mua Hills

IDM helped in promoting education in the Mua Hills community through the construction of the Mua Hills Learning Center located adjacent to the Mua Hill Clinic. The library was the first such resource for the community.

Educational Material

Item in the IDM shipping container await shipment to Kenya. The Care Chest of Nevada has allowed IDM to store the container on its property while additional items are collected and shipping arrangements are made.

Educational partnerships with University of Nevada, Reno

IDM has a partnered with student groups and instructors at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) since 2002. IDM has supported education of UNR students in the following ways:

Provision of hands-on learning projects for undergraduate student interns
Provision of student projects in Kenya, including water projects and health education
Partner with UNR’s Student Association of International Water Issues (SAIWI) on fundraising

IDM Scholarship Endowment in Public Health

The IDM Scholarship Endowment in Public Health was funded in 2019 to support education of students at the University of Nevada, Reno. The scholarship is provided annually to a UNR student who demonstrate an interest in enhancing the health and quality of the life of people in low to middle income countries through their coursework, community engagement, or graduate research.
